Back                                                   Cellular polycarbonate

Today cellular polycarbonate sheets (also known as textured or honeycomb sheets) are the most widely used polycarbonate material in construction. Textured polycarbonate sheets are produced by extrusion of melted granula through a die, the shape of which defines the structure of the sheet.

Corrugation in double-layer and triple-layer panels helps keep air inside for great thermal insulation. Cellular polycarbonate is available in thicknesses between 4 mm and 35 mm.

Features
Excellent impact strength
Frost resistance (used at a range of temperatures between  -  50 °C and + 120 °C)
High light transmission
Cold bending
Easy processing and installation
High durability (10 year manufacturer’s warranty covering yellowing, hail damage and loss of strength)
Extra light weight (16 times lighter than glass)
Wide range of colors
Panels do not break when cut or drilled
Fire resistance (the material melts at extremely high temperatures, but does not spread fire nor emits toxic agents)

Applications
Construction
 -  Light transmitting roofing, curved applications, canopies, visors
 -  Glazing for sports facilities, shopping malls, gas stations, swimming pools, winter gardens, greenhouses
 -  Cellular polycarbonate for green houses and roofing
Advertising and design
 -  Exhibition stands, pavilions, shop fronts, outdoor advertising, suspended light-diffusing ceilings
Agriculture
 -  Roofing for green houses, growing houses, winter gardens.
